Our uniquely shaped yarn gauge is ergonomically designed to fit comfortably in your hand. It is laser cut from New Zealand Rimu so is both beautiful and precise. The yarn gauge can be used to determine both the twists per inch and wraps per inch. The extra hole allows you to tie it to your wheel or even use it as a key ring. Yarn gauges are invaluable little tools for spinners.
We now offer a bag for easy protection and transportation of your Majacraft Rose or Suzie wheel (including Professional and Alpaca). It is produced using very tough PU coated polyester Oxford. in the Majacraft 'green' color. It has rugged zippers down the front to ease loading the bag. We use a flap in the top of the bag to allow access to the handle on the wheel for transporting it about. Using the wheel handle instead of straps places the wheel in a much more comfortable position to carry.
Use our beautifully scented lavender wood polish to keep your spinning wheel and accessories as beautiful as the day they arrived. A small amount goes a long way so you do not need to purchase new containers so often. Lavender polish is great to keep in your little bag of spinning tools.
"In a Spin" is Pat's first book and can be decribed as a journey with her as she explores yarn design. The book has been arranged as a series of projects with the exphasis of each project more on technique rather than the reproduction of the final item. Thanks to Pat's unique style, it has a distinctive New Zealand slant (and includes translations!) and gives fun insights into this country. There is something for everyone and contains information on many subjects including choosing fleeces and discussions on fibre tools. It has been beautifully presented with many colour photos so is just as suited to be a coffee table book as a reference text. We at Majacraft are proud to be sole distributors for 'In a Spin' and recommend it for anyone wishing to develop their spinning knowledge and skill.
These elegant hand-turned tape measures are crafted by Jim Reilly. The are made from a variety of beautiful woods, generally New Zealand native timbers, but also from other desirable species. Each tape has a piece of New Zealand shell or other beautiful material inlaid on the top.
They ensure that your tape measure never gets lost or tangled in your work bag. The tape pulls out from its holder and can be rewound by turning the top.
Each tape is unique in character and design and the tapes are graduated in both metric and imperial scales. If the tape ever needs to be replaced, the cover over the screw on the underside of the tape can be flicked out and the tape measure dissasembled.
